Summer Visit

Jacob and I had just over a month long visit with family and some friends a month ago. (Ok 2 months ago by time I finish this blog.) Ender had a very busy summer semester so it was good we were out of his hair. We had a good, but delayed, flight into Vegas and then had a miserable 30 minutes in line at customs. Jacob was not happy about being woken up and therefore screamed the whole time. It was finally our turn to be questioned and they closed the line so the officer could join the 3 other officers questioning one guy and because I'm sure everyone in line wanted to hear 5 more minute of Jacob screaming. My parents were extra happy to finally see us since we were over an hour late and it was already 2 am. We stopped at In-N-Out and were off to St. George. We had lots of fun hanging out with my parents. Jacob had a million toys to play with and I had a car to drive. It was good times. I got to see some friends, hang with the YW, and see family I haven't seen in a while. Jacob loved grandma's cheerios
And grandpa's fruit smoothies
We then went up north to visit family. We got to see my sister's new place. We also finally got to meet the newest Shane, Grahm. We got to visit with Jen, Jacob's birthmom, and her family. Then we had a short visit with the Brimhall side of the family. Jacob had so much fun playing with his cousins and being spoiled. Sadly I didn't get to many pictures this week to show all the people we visited and show how much fun we had. Jacob loves to climb on his big cousin, Noah.
We had fun swimming in the pool at Kristy's but we had our hands full (which sadly means no pictures). The cousins had fun swimming together and Noah finally joined us once he found out there were cute girls there. Grahm was pooped after all that swimming.
After a week in SLC Nana and Papa drove us back to St. George for one more week of fun with grandma and grandpa and then it was off to CA to stay with my sister Katie and the fam. There are plenty pictures to share of these 2 weeks cuz Aunt Katie always has her camera with her. I love this picture I got of Tyler.
And this one of Kayla
This is the best shot we got of them with Grandma and Grandpa
My little guy loved the lake at Katie's house. He was very brave and made me plenty nervous playing in deep (for him) water. We played here about 4 times and had a blast each time. It's so nice to drive down the block to the lake instead of 2 1/2 hours to the crowded beach. It's even better when you can get delicious pizza or turkey, bacon, avocado sandwiches on the way home.
Our sister from another mister made the trek out with her two beauties to get in on the fun.
The last time Jacob and Kai played together it was in a small kiddie pool at my moms house. It was so fun to see how much they've grown this year and to once again be swimming together in a much bigger pool. They also had a lot of fun taking turns going down the slide at the park. I just love seeing the second generation friendships starting so young.
I'm usually the one taking pictures at home so it's especially nice when we go to Katie's cuz I get some "Jacob and me" photos.
Jacob's first Otter Pop
We were at Katie's for the 4th of July. Their housing community does their own fireworks show. We had a perfect view of the fireworks from their front yard. It was so nice to hang out on the lawn instead of joining the crowd at the lake. I love this picture of Jacob and Uncle cody. I think it's the matching striped shirts. This picture was taken just before the sprinklers came on and Cody ditched us as quick as he could for dry land. It freaked out the kids a bit but was pretty funny. We watched the rest of the fireworks from the front porch.
Katie lives a bit far from most things, haha, which means some long car rides. We got plenty of pics of sleeping kiddos in the car.
This photo cracks me up. Jacob fell asleep with his hand in his snacks. Waking up is hard to do. Especially when you are STILL in the car.
Ender flew into LA for a wedding and then stayed with one of his besties, Kyle, for a week. Ender's parents drove down from SLC to hang out for two days just so they could see him. They picked Jacob and me up on the way and then we stayed in LA right by the airport for a quick get-a-way. We had a fun/long day of shopping around the area and at The Grove. Unfortunately I was sick and could not fully enjoy the weekend. We were all glad to be back home, together as a family. We sure had a fun trip.
